I wrote this after an Open Heart Meditation and Massage workshop at Conscious Connection Camp with the lovely Vishwam of Flowing With Life Stress Relief Clinic on my beloved Rainbow Fields.
“When Did We Become One?
Was it that first gentle kiss
Lost now in the mists of time
But also a perfect memory
Seared on my soul
Was it in the period of anticipation
Followed by hours of ecstasy
When the granite walls and barriers
Tumbled down around the bed we in which we lay
Has it been gradual over the years
With the birth of each child
As time passed, wrinkles appeared
Yet the love and togetherness grew
Or was it when the world was torn apart
And the only thing I could bear was you
Skin to skin, no words, just touching
In the same darkened room where we first found each other
You held me through the storm
Loved me through my grief and pain
Setting aside your own loss as
Overcome with grief and rage I was reborn
In the new world there was still you
Steady, strong, gentle and kind
You were different, somehow quieter and not the same
But still the same – still always you
And then you too got lost, hard to reach aloof
The storm took you – for a while we were two
You seemed alone and apart and oh
How I missed you and being us
More years passed and slowly
Together and alone we healed me and you
Mostly on green grass and in woods and in nature
With flame and sea and travel and love
And in todays open heart, massage and touching
We had to be separated, just for a moment
And we found we did not want to be sundered
When in a room full of people we were just two
Somehow there was just me and you
Soft touch, hands, stroking, holding
Your heart, my heart, your touch, my touch
My heart swelled and I loved you
I loved you so much in those moments
That I felt I was you and you were me
In that time we became two hearts that beat as one heart
I love the life we lead, you and I
You make me feel I can fly
You can ride free and together
In times between time
You become me and I become you
And our two hearts beat as one”.
